No Pay: Stage Manager

"Nerve" by an American play write call Adam Szymkowicz

NERVE is a dark comedy about falling into a relationship on the first date. Elliot has never had an online date before…at least not one that showed up. Susan has had far too many but would prefer not to discuss them. When they meet in a bar one night, all their personality flaws are revealed, along with a puppet, some modern dance and a desperation that may or may not be love.

The rehearsals will be begin on Monday the 20th of September and run up until the 18th of October. As it stands we are rehearsing in the evening Monday - Friday 6pm-9pm Possibly 7pm - 10pm depending on everyone's availability.

The director likes to work closely with the stage manager so he/she would be required at all rehearsals. They would also have the responsibility of taking notes on blocking and on notes in general and helping assist the Producers with coordinating any changes to the actors/crew rehearsal schedule. The director has directed pieces at the Trafalgar Studios the Chocolate factory, Tristan Bates theatre, Hampstead theatre and is part of the Abassador's theatre group.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a responsible and passionate individual who would be able to commit to the dates above. Unfortunately this would be an unpaid opportunity but we have on bored a great cast, play venue and Director.

Pay: Scenic Artists and prop/puppet makers

We are looking for scenic artists and prop/puppet makers to build our new production.

We are looking for talented individuals to join our existing design team. We need very talented team members who are able to roll their sleeves up and either prop-make, build scenery, carve puppets or paint to a very high standard.

We're a children's theatre company, and all of our work is imaginative, colourful, and fun, so we're keen to receive applications from professionals who can build to our individual style.

You'd be based at our fully equipped workshop in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, which is just off the A1. Ideally, you'd live in Nottinghamshire, or within driving distance, but for the right applicants, we'll happily provide accommodation.

You will need to be easy going, fun, hardworking and able to shine in a collaborative environment, because we don't always refer to finished technical drawings and designs. However, we do always produce amazing results, with high quality production values!

If you're used to working in a 9 - 5pm environment, with 2 hour lunches, and lots of tea breaks, - then please DO NOT apply for this job. Also, if you're unable to work effectively to deadlines, sadly, you're not the person we're looking for.

If the thought of contributing your own ideas, and having to 'think' excites you this will be a great opportunity. If you don't mind working hard, and you have a great sense of humour, please get in touch, because we'd love to hear from you!

We pay £325 per week and the build will begin on the 6th September 2010 and last for 4/5 weeks.

Please send your CV, examples of your work, along with a covering letter to our artistic director, Bill Davies, explaining why you'd work well with our company and how your experience would enhance our team.

The deadline for applications is 8th August 2010. Successful applicants will be contacted by phone to organise an interview, so please ensure you include your phone number.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Fifth Word's last production painkillers received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh and toured last year. Most recently Fifth Word won an award from the Writers Guild of Great Britain for their contribution to New Writing.

Exposure is made up of a quality creative team including director Esther Richardson, associate director at Soho. Recent credits also include- DC Moore's new play Town at the Royal and Derngate and Derby Live's Pair of Pinters.

Hello, I am applying for a Technician which will be up at the Edinburgh festival this August, ideally a student who would like to gain some work experience.
It is for a comedy and storytelling show which will run from the 9th to the 27th at 4.50 pm for an hour.
The show itself will take place in a beautiful surroundings of a cabaret style venue and with all the equipment necessary which includes a PA, a projector and screen and cd player, all needed during the show.
Because it is part of the free fringe scheme where performers are not hiring the performance space and do not charge money from punters we cannot guarantee a fixed fee for the job, hence why students will benefit more from this for their work experience but we will have donations in the end, so a door split is negotiable.

Daniel MacBaine has written a scathingly satirical first novel in which he depicts his former lover Caroline Hoskins as a boorish "Texas Cow". And now Caroline, claiming to be his "muse", has pursued him all the way to his swanky Paris hotel room to force him to write a sequel in which he shows how much she's changed. But can she overcome Daniel's epic case of writer's block when according to him, she's the main cause? Enter Charles Henry Duprey, a high-strung French translator in "pointy" shoes, and the result is comic mayhem. Feydeau on steroids
